Thanks Bill hopefully someone with useful information can be helpful.
I did research outside of the forum the ls1 slave and 4.3 slave prior to 01 is exactly the same down to part number. The only difference from mine to that style is mine is all plastic. and has the very long line to the stock Master cylinder. Since oddly enough sunday my slave cylinder blew out on my truck. The one for my truck is about 150 bux and the ls1 is 80. I am going to buy an ls1 slave and change the line over save myself 70 bux

Yes I noticed a solid 2 mpg better average when i swapped to the 2WD GTO T56 from the 4WD ECSB 4L60E. I kept the 3.73's too. The truck lost alot of weight though.

I think your mpg gain will vary some depending on your truck's mods, weight and driving characteristics. Post your truck and mods in your signature so we can help.

What do ya got?

I could care less about my mpg cause when I see the look on someone's face when they get beat by my truck, it's priceless.

My question is...the output of the crankshaft, did they put different cranks in these engines?

The best I recall is 99-00 had ~3/4" longer crank to work with the gen1 style trans and clutch. Your 02 should be fine but not 100%. I did the 5 speed swap. search my posts in this thread.
