I know this discussion was a while ago but I thought I would update. EAD still makes these input shafts and I have ordered three of them. We recently acquired a 2007 Yukon Denali for my wife. We love the truck with the 6.2L and the 6speed 6L80 but the transfer case blows big time. I am going to put one of the input shafts in a NV149 and put that in the 2007 Yukon Denali.

It should bolt right up. I've got a NVG149 and a Borg Warner AWD case from a 6L80 and they share the same bolt pattern. The input shaft sticks out the same amount as well so it should be direct bolt on.
I'll have a 6L80 here in the shop in a couple of weeks and I will confirm as long as I still have my nvg149 here.

Has any progress been made on swapping the 149 in place of the 4485? I’m in the market for a Denali and was going to make some good power with it, but want it to be as bulletproof as possible from the get.

The BW case is basically an open case kind of like a open rear end with no posi. Normally the ABS module would control where power goes by applying the brakes to the spinning wheel so power gets diverted to another wheel with traction.
The NVG splits power from the front to rear with the viscous coupler unit inside of it (typically 38%/62% IIRC but varies depending on traction), but doesn't seem to interfere with the braking system setup of the BW units. Not saying that it's right or wrong, but seems to work, just passing along what I heard.

It won't interfere unless the 149 does allow wheelspin. Seen this at the track when the front end unloads and smokes the front tires. In this case, the ABS would kick in and apply the front brakes. Not really the greatest thing when trying to go fast lol. But otherwise it should work fairly well.

it look like there is a connector on the case - a speed sensor? i would just need to plug it as the awd is all mechanical correct?
should share the same 6bolt pattern as i have? - most of these swaps are to a 4l80, 6l80 should bolt to the same transfer case?
ive fought with trying to get the bw4485 to hook at the track for a while now, pulling the abs fuses keeps it from braking to control wheel speed but a dozen lights pop up on the dash. With the fuses in daily driving around 95% of the time it's not to intrusive. biggest problem with launching the bw unit having an open differential, as soon as the front unloads all the power wants to go to the spinning front wheels.
