NV3500 to small block problems.
#1
I am trying to put a NV3500 5-Speed trans to my dads 1967 327 small block, but I am having some problems with the hydraulic clutch throwout bearing. The transmission is out of an 2002 truck, with the integral spring loaded hydraulic throwout bearing. I have a clutch master cylinder out of a LSx based F-Body. I am not sure if the master cylinders between the car/truck are different, but I am bottoming out the camaro cylinder, and the clutch is not fully releasing. Does the throwout bearing have to be shimmed? I have heard this is an easy swap to a small block chevy, but nobody has any answers for me. Anyone have any ideas?

You should be using one from a earlier truck to make the swap easier. You could use the pre-99 truck stuff with all its clutch and components without any problem. I believe the bell housing depth of the LSx based transmissions is different.
