nv3500 questions

i'm running a 5.3 with mine just fine. the s-10 nv3500s are slightly different from their fullsize counterparts in that they have different gearing & tailshafts.

as far as interchangeability between the nv3500 & nv1500, i ain't sure, but just get a 4.8 flywheel & clutch setup & you're golden.


ps - stock-for-stock, the nv3500 can take more than a 4L60

anyone know the diffrence between the 4.3 and 4.8 nv3500 in fullsize trucks? it seems like all the junk yards around here have the 4.3 trans

nothing. there's just ridiculously more 4.3s than 4.8s with manuals

any diffrence in the slave? sorry for all the questions i dont want to get the wrong stuff and i can't really look at them to compare

you'll wanna use a new slave anyway, so just use the one with the v8 clutch kit. mine looked pretty much the same. i aslo heard you can use an f-body slave, but i never looked into it. go ahead & replace the pilot bearing, too.

the clutch kits that i have seen on ebay didn't mention coming with a slave. should i get a speed bleeder like the f-bodys use?

I got a remote bleeder with the speed bleeder just cause it'll make life sooo much easier. For $50 it's worth it I think. The line is long enough I can probably route it up by the clutch master and be good to go.

i got mine from clutchcityonline.com & it looks like stock - just a little sturdier
came with pressure plate, disk, slave, pilot bearing, new slave seal, & new o-ring for the clutch line

just get a ls1 flywheel and pp. they can be had for nothing on tech. then buy the correct diameter 10 spline disc. i got my low milage ls1 flywheel and pp for basically what it cost to ship it.
