Default normal tailshaft play

Does this look like normal up and down play in my tailshaft. Side to side is the same. Seems excessive to me. it's a 4l80 to a 2 piece driveshaft on a 2wd ecsb Silverado

Mine doesn't have anywhere near that much play. Are there grooves in the yoke when you slide it out? I would get a bushing and put it in the tail housing just to be on the safe side. It is an easy job to do too.

All that's less than 6 months old. Jakes stage 4 and a custom Driveshaft Specialist out of Texas driveshaft. I didn't install any of it so I'm not sure if it was sloppy from the get go or not. I've been noticing a little vibration that felt like maybe a u joint was going out, and that's what I found. I spent too much money to be having these problems already!

Is your suspension considerably different than stock? I think universal joints need a certain amount of angle applied when rotating to keep the needle bearings healthy?

Pulling a shaft is pretty damn easy. I'd do that, make sure the yoke isn't damaged and also inspect the needle bearings. Careful though.

I didn't feel any play in the u-joints. I contacted the shop that did the work and they are looking into it for me. I don't plan on being the one who fixes it considering I didn't order or install any of that stuff myself and it's all only about 6 months old.
