Default NOOB needs help with understanding his new wheels.

Hey guys, im back with stupid questions looking for good answers. Heres my situation, I have a 2013 suburban z71, i have 3.5 inches of lift to the burb, i had 18x8 +33 with a 305/70r18 with a quarter in spacer. I now have 18x9 +0 with 305/70r18 and quarter in of spacer.
I scrub HORRIBLY now. With factory wheels i only had minor rubbing full turn on bumps, now in neutral I cant make half a turn without fully impacting the wheel well. My mechanic and I both agreed that neutral offset would remedy the problem. NOPE. It's very bad. It scrubs dead center of the wheel wells in turning. I know my tires are too big already but it was working adequately, I don't understand how having less offset creates more scrubbing. there any way as it sits to help? More spacer to mimic stock offset? Cash is tight and I want more lift or smaller tires to be a last resort. I can take a dremel and a heat gun to the wells again but Im unsure if itll make a difference. I'm at a loss and need new options badly.

What confuses me the most is that the REAR part of the well is taking the scrubbing more than the front. Alignment? Spacers? Hammer and heat? What can I do before we contact lift kit sales departments.. thanks.

I don't know about such a new truck as yours, but on my truck it wouldn't do any good to try to reshape the driver's side wheel well because the parking brake cable is right up against the liner where too big of a tire rubs.

I was thinking the same thing.

Going from a +33 positive offset to a 0 offset and adding a 1/4" (roughly a 6.5mm) spacer puts you in the negative offset range now. So, now your wheel/tire is being pushed out even further, which is why you're rubbing. Never mind the fact that you said your tires are too big to begin with

Take the spacer out and see what happens.

Where in NC are you located?

the wide rim might be making the tire wider even though you have a 0 offset the tires is now much wider then when it was on the 8" rim so you have more rubbing even tho the back side is almost in the same spot
