Default Help Understanding Sudden Leak

I have an 83 k10 and it came to me with the transmission not working. I checked the level from the dipstick and it showed nothing. I removed the pan and cleaned it. Replaced the filter and gasket and filled it with fluid. Took it for a test drive and it worked great. The truck is not registered so I never take it out for more than a few blocks around my neighborhood. For a month there have been no leaks at all. It's been parked in my driveway for at least 3 weeks not driven and when I came home today there is transmission fluid leaking all over the driveway. Does anyone know what would cause this?

Confused.

Joey make sure that you did not over torque the pan and split the gasket. Remember those pan bolts only need about a 100inlbs.

Get under there and degrease everything so you can pinpoint where the leak is at.

Thanks Guys!!! Yes I overtorqued the bolts to compensate for two of them being stripped on the transmission itself, as soon as it got cold the gasket split...Thanks for the info!!!
