Default no TCC lock up

alright so the last time i was able to lock up was about a week ago before one of my trans lines busted and lost about a qt of fluid. quickly stopped and replaced and repaired the break and fluid. no damage done to my knowledge. later on i throw a DTC, something about some pressure solenoid in the transmission and after driving for about ten minutes highway speeds, i notice it doesnt lock up... didnt notice for a while cuz city driving most of the time. went to go get the tune buttoned up, after countless restarts in effort to check the fuel trims etc, the DTC code goes away, SES ligth turns off, the code is even gone from the history....im thinkin maybe it was just a malfunction, highway speeds home, no lock up....weird to mantain 50mph takes 2000rpm and to maintain 60mph takes 2000rpm stall still works fine up to par, tranmission is still holding, nothing seems to be wrong except no lock up. what could be causing this? if it throws the code again, im gonna go have it checked to see for sure. i dont want to mess with the valve body or solenoids on a stock 60e anyways so if something seriously wrong, time for a new one.... sucks cuz sunday im driving 90 miles to college and thats gonna be a PITA if i have no lock up, i guess ill just have to go fast enough that the TCC isnt slipping any so i dont build any extra heat.

need to know the code. If you can catch Charlie with a spare moment have him do a lockup command through HP Tuners Scanner while driving, this will make it lock up unless something physically isn't working, which it could be the lockup selenoid, torque converter or something along those lines.

You will be able to make it 90miles fine I drove 800 pulling a 3000# trailer with no lock up. My problem is a bad TCC lockup silenoid.

alright, ill get it scanned if it throws the code again, what is tranny abuse mode? or were you kidding? and why would it keep from locking a week later if something wasnt physically wrong? it was a p07 for sure, the rest we dont know cuz he checked the code, then we started tuning again (no WOT though) and probably 25 restarts he remembers to delete the code but its not there anymore

generally with higher stall converters 3k or above, sometimes you get a shift selenoid B stuck open (abuse mode i think). it has happened to me twice in 10k mi. with the converter. i usually disconnect the batter for a while and clear the code and it's good to go. i just don't know if you are experiencing these same problems though.

alright so i was driving to school today, about 90 miles. at first it wasnt locking up but was holding 70mph at about 2500 so i could deal with that and the temps were just below 180 so that was fine too. then it would lock up and i just got excited. stayed locked for a little while then it would unlock. and then it would take a while for it to lock again etc. heres a time line....i started watching the clock at 6p (unlocked) 6:03 (lock) up a small overpass and down another, fine. 6:04 (down overpass, unlocked...{locked initially at 70mph then went unlock at about 75)... eased back down to 70mph again, still unlocked mind you, 6:06 lock again. ....i have noticed that it only locks after being held at a constant 67-72mph....doesnt seem to like to be locked faster than that, partial or no throttle. BUT it was locked and i exited the freeway, and like it should i could hear it hold lock until it broke below 35mph then you could hear it come unlocked. after that i had to drive for about 3 or 4 minutes at 70 for it to catch lock again. this is really weird...when its locked at 70mph its at about 2100rpm so there isnt THAT much difference between rpm locked and rpm unlocked held at constant speed. i just dunno what the deal is. no codes being thrown, its not acting up other wise. my best guess is just that, a guess.
