torsion bars are on 4x4 trucks, tahoes, avalanches, ss silverados, 1500/2500/3500 hd's, and some 1500 crew cabs. they are long bars that have a hex end that inserts into the lower controll arm and runs along the inside of the frame where the other end is mounted in a key in a crossmember that has been loaded (twisted) into forcing the tension through the bar to act like a spring pushing the wheel down/truck up, if you look under your truck and dont see this, you see a coil spring mounted above the lower control arm instead, you dont have them.
