Are New Ubolts needed for rear block removal?

Default Are New Ubolts needed for rear block removal?

Just looking at them quick it looks like i will need shorter Ubolts when i remove my rear block??

If so what do i order?

Yes you will need shorter ones-buy gm ones from dealership that are 2wd model. Can't remember the part number

Yes you will, the ubolt isn't threaded far enough. I just went to the Chevy parts counter and told them what I wanted. It was 5ish years ago I believe they were 40.

go to hardware store by box of flat washers and fill the space (real cheap option and kinda funky looking but it works)

Damn, transmissions on the brain..^^^^ What is it with this guy


He is talking about removing the factory lift blocks that are on the rear axle of all the 4wd trucks.
