New trans. 4L60E or 4L80E????

To put a 4l80e in a 4x4, you have to change out the input gear in the transfer case, replace both front and rear drive shafts cuz it's a 2" longer combo, get a new torque converter, extend the cooler lines, swap a couple pins in the electrical plug, wire a second speed sensor to the PCM and have a trans segment swap done in the PCM. That's the basics of it... Not real easy on a 4x4
I just so happen to have a nice built 4l60e for sale, even for a 4x4

the real question is why didnt we all just buy 2500's. I mean when it's all said and done many swap to the 80e and 14bolt rear end. Seems it'd be much easier just to start with a 2500.

I've built a few 80's for trucks, and I've built tons of 60's. Both trannies have their problems. I've seen bunch of stock 80's break the intermidiate sprag. Most of the people that have went 80's is because they use an unexperienced builder, cheap out and use cheap parts, or have somebody build it that has no idea what they are doing.
