Default New tranny (TH400)!!

Finally got rid of the nv3500 and threw in a TCI TH400 . Wow what an improvment. Backed out of the transbrake and just got the manual valve body. TCI claims 1200hp capable. Don't plan on going to the track that often so didn't think brake was needed.
List of parts in swap: TCI TH400 manual valve body, TCI streetfighter shifter, Jegs XHD 3500 converter, TCI flexplate w/spacer, Jegs XHD tranny cooler, Autometer temp guage, Jegs flexible dipstick. Driveshaft, trans mount, crossmember, yoke, driveshaft were all the same. Made swap very easy. Would highly recommend any 5 speed guys to do the swap. Probably had $3000 in the whole swap. Would be happy to give part #'s if anyone needs them. Going to use the front wheel ABS sensor for the speedometer and tune to get speedo right. Hate ABS anyways, so don't mind losing it. Wires on the clutch sensor worked for the park/neutral switch. Feels very fast and manual shifting is a blast w/o clutch.

Well done man. You'll be surprised how much more you'll want to race now that you can go thru the gears like a champ. 5 Speed was cool, but I had Zero desire to track the truck with it. Shifting the auto on the floor is good stuff!

truck only gets driven 1000 miles a year, could care less how many mpg it gets. plus th400 is lighter, same length as nv3500, no tuning, cheaper. i don't think you can get a 4l80 for $1400 thats rated at 1200hp. cruising doesn't seem to bad w/3.42's and no OD. if it was a DD i would have definantly went w/ the 80 tho.
