Default New TC and Converter Limit Valve Install Gone Wrong

Major trans fluid pouring out of upper vent tubing. It actually empties the entire trans!! When idling no fluid pours out, in gear it FLOWS. I did the converter limit valve modification my self and re installed the pump and new PI triple disc TC. What did I mess up so bad on? I believe my next step is to get it hauled to the transmission shop. Please help if you have any input on what the problem may be. Thank You!

I have a couple of tips for you. On the back side of the late pumps there should be a small oil deflector to keep oil from coming right out of the pump and blowing right into the vent tube. This is held in place by one of the pump bolts. I would make sure that is there and go over everything you did on your install. Also on the late limit valves you need to grind a small portion of the OD of the valve so the spring sits correctly. Not sure if either of these apply to you but figured it can't hurt to make sure you have them correct.

Vince thanks for the tips! I did all the above on the install, however I do believe I need to check that oil deflector again you mentioned. That oil deflector and the way you described it seems like the culprit. Time to drop the trans again...

What exactly does this valve do? I recently got my ptc converter installed and I am having problems. It really feels like the tc clutch is dragging at idle. I did not do this mod to the pump.

wittrans.com has that part and describes it as so. I remember putting it back together with that part. Question is did I put it back in the correct location.

If I remember correctly it is installed to help out with idle conditions. Maybe somebody more knowledgeable can chime in.

What exactly does it help at idle conditions? Do you know? I seem to have low line pressure at idle, but fine with rpms.
