Default new member needs help?

i have a 2005 2500hd automatic and i have a clicking noise in the area by the trans and engine? i have been told that the 6.0 motors have had a flywheel(flexplate) issue of it cracking where the bolts go thru.... is this a common thing? it makes a rattling sound whe your at idle or at a low rpm. but it goes away when the converter has more pressure on the flywheel? has anyone ever heard of this flywheel(flexplate) craking? any help would greatly be appreciated thanks. also? the stock trans in a 2005, 2500 hd with the 6.0 is what? 4l60, 4l65 or 4l80? THANKS AGAIN PHILLIP.

sounds like a possibility. ive split a few. just get under there with a good light and turn the flex plate and check for cracks. it's an easy diagnosis, not a super easy fix.

Pics? Also your trans is a 4L80E, since nobody else answered that. Probably not relevant now but might be good for future reference nonetheless
