Default New Maggie install, now HARD 1-2 shifts!

I just installed my new Magnacharger 1900 today (awesome!) and took the truck for a good hard rip. Now, the transmission (4L60E) is shifting so hard, it's almost banging on the 1-2 shift and sometimes on the 2-3 shift. Did I wreck something or is it the computer compensating somehow? I'm using the Magnacharger tune. I also have a shift kit but not sure which one, it was installed before I got it. Thanks for any help.

I've heard on SSS.com that the tunes for mag are set for stock trucks! It probably has increase ur line pressure in trans! So with a shift kit theirs no need to increase line pressure!

It seemed pretty normal at first and kept getting worse. Is there a way to change this without getting a custom tune done? It just kicks so hard, seems like something's gonna break!

Maybe call up the company and ask them if they mess with the trans in their tunes! And if they do ask if they can send u one without a tune on tranny! IMO less you'll know if it's the tune!

I'll do that. The programmer came with a USB adapter so maybe we can straighten it out. Thanks.

Thats what I was going to say. If the MAF sensor fails the computer commands max line pressure. I bet thats where your problem lies.

Guys, the MAF is plugged in. Of course, with the install the two MAF wires are cut and spliced into the Maggie. I just went back to factory tune and then reprogrammed again, will see what happens as last time it took awhile before it started to shift hard. I'm getting lean codes for the rear sensors and the EGR, presumably because I removed the EGR for this kit and blocked it off. I'll have a custom tuner delete all of that soon.

OK, this is interesting. I tuned it to stock and then reinstalled the Magnacharger tune. It's back to the original slushy shifting now. I think the computer may have learned from my aggressive driving yesterday that it needed a firmer shift so it upped the line pressure and then it was too much for the trans with shift kit.

At any rate, I'm taking it in tomorrow for a proper tune, I don't like this guesswork crap. Besides, with my cam and rockers there seems to be a couple of little flat spots in the power curve. Can't wait for it to be set up just right. It's got a ton of power already and the custom tune can only make it better.
