Default new brakes

I brought my truck in for some jerking under braking and the shop said I needed new brakes. Rotors, calipers, and pads front and back. Since they wanted $1,400 I figured I would order aftermarket equipment and have my friend help me install them. He is a a heavy equipment mechanic by trade so the install will should be correct.

What do you recommend?

I have stock 16" wheels, but I am about to buy new ones. As such I am open to larger rotor sizes. Thanks for the help.

O.o

You can get a SSBC 3-Piston Calipers for all 4 wheels for basically the same price as that. And they are a helluva lot better and nicer than the originals.

Also for the rotor sizes, SSBC's are made for stock wheels, however have "adapters" that move the calipers for larger rotors when you get 18"+ wheels.

So in short i say, SSBC Calipers/Rotors and ritualistically burn the stock calipers.

Are the ss brake lines worth the extra money?

I would swap for SS brake lines, more for the reason of that they dont rot over time like rubber lines. Also they do help firm up the brake pedal a bit.

And I should get the ssbc rotors? Or should I opt for other rotors. I will most likely stay with stock wheel size so I can use them in the winter.

I currently have brembo rotors, and given their cost my next set will either be EBC or SSBC Rotors.

I wouldnt be afraid of using SSBC's rotors at all, given the quality of their stuff.
