Default Need tranny help

I posted about installing a shift kit, not many people looked, I guess my title wasnt attention grabbing or somethin, lol I dunno. well I put in a shift kit two nights ago, me and a buddy. Well their was no first gear. Fixed that tonight, the gasket wasnt lined up. After drive a little bit 2nd went out. But before that 1st never really had power it woul dslowly climb untill it hit 2nd and then it would GO! But then 2nd went out.....NOTHING, just 1st then 3rd.

So is it new tranny time or what?

I saw a post about maddog tranny's. Anybody knwo of any good or bad things. If tranny is gone tho i will most likely be contacting FLT due to proven.

Are You On The Highlifter Website With The Same Screenname? If So I Remember You From There. Anyways Ive Heard A Few Goo Dthings About Maddog Trannys, But Ive Heard Alot!about Flt Trannys And They Are Very Reputible. But You Might Just Have A Pressure Problem In The Valve Body Due Tonot Installing The Shift Kit Properly. I Doubt You Lost Your First Gear, Usually When A 4l60e Goes Out Its The 3rd And 4th Gears First Because Of The Clutches Burning Up. And Then It Proceeds To Go All The Way Soon After. I Would Suggest Going Over The Instuctions Again And Double Checking Everything. The Shift Pressures Get Modified/boosted When You Install A Shift Kit And If Something Is Off Balance It Could Have The Reverse Effect. That Valve Body Is Very Sensitive. There Is No Room For Error In A Tranny, Trust Me I Know Im On Number 6 Right Now.but Now I Know A Few Things, Plus Ive Come To Love The Taste Of Dexron Iii

I still hate the taste, but it does make my hair nice and shiney Im with getchusum Probably got something messed up with the shift kit, but I messed one up once and fried every clutch in there, so if you can, dont drive it till you get in there again. Id recomend pulling the entire kit out, then starting over.

BTW ask in a few months about the FLT's Thats what I decided on after #6 or 7 went down. If a FLT can last with me, it will last with anyone.

I am on highlifter. Ive met a few members here from their. We did double check the tranny I do believe its all good with the shift kit.

Lasgt night when testing out the double checking the shift kit. We were trying to figure out why 1st had a "lag" to it. Then after palying with if probably 5-10 1-2 firm shifts it would no longer go into 2nd. It revs to about 21mph and I think about 3000-3500 rpms nad then shifts and when it shifts now it FALLS on its face cause its in third.

Is it slipping? If not, its in the valve body more than likely. If so, call Chuck at FLT. Also, what did you use to keep all the check ***** in place. I learned the hard (expensive) way grease does not work Well it will work to hold everything in place, but the next day when youre heading to work, you fry all the internals in there
