Default Need Tire Size Help Please!

Would like to know what is the largest size 20" tire I can fit on a 2000 Silverado (NBS 4WD) without any rubbing? My truck is the stock ride height. I know they recommend 285/50/20's on Tire Rack's website. I would like to stay with a 50 series tire but would like to go wider if I can. I would appreciate any help with this. Thanks!

Wheel backspacing will play a big part in how wide you can go. I'm guessing a 305/50 20 is about the largest you can go stock height. Its a little over 32 in. tall. Seems like there's another size that's a little taller that'll work but I can't remember now.

I had 285/50/20's on once upon a time and had to trim some plastic. personally that is just too much tire. I liked the look of a 275/45/20 much better. too much tire makes wheel look smaller.... 295/45/20.... lots o' options
