I pulled the truck under the carport today, was pulling it from the bed and noticed the tires weren't turning. It was sliding the tires. The diff is good. I've checked that.

How do you figure? Did you have it in park when you did this? The diff could be locked up in either case. I would pull the drive shaft and jack the rear up to verify this or pull the cover like I said before.

The driveshaft wasn't spinning so I thought the diff was good

I've notices that this noise is coming from about where the converter is. Fluid looks good and I pulled the converter today because I already had the engine out and the verter looks ok but I guess it needs to be opened up. Only thing that gets me is that when I pulled the truck to where it is now the rear tires where being dragged, not turning at all. Rear diff is fine though.

mine did what your did but no noise. just stopped moving at a stop sign one day. turn it off, wait 30min, start it up and you could go about 5min before it quit. my filter was clogged. changed my filter and been driving it 7 months. reverse has a engagement delay but thats it. waiting for some sparks to fly from where ever the 2 pounds of shaving came from but it didnt make anything near the noise yours is making... lol

Yea mines alil more than needing a new filter.I've followed alot of the advice here so thanks for the help guys. Hopefully I will figure it out. I also wanted to say that when this first happened I put it in park and it was still rolling back. I was on a hill.
