Default Need new brake pads

I have a 1999 1500 Silverado (disks front and rear, and a 2006 Silverado (disks front only). I need new pads for both trucks. What pads have you had good luck with? These are work trucks not race trucks and I want good OEM or better pads, but I do not want to pay OEM price at dealer.

I like the Wagner Thermoquite pads. Not the cheapest pads but good quality.

Dont get the duralast golds. They last forever, but dont stop that great, and are always squeeling. My stock pads were 10 times better. I had some bendix Titanium pads on my car, those things were great. Dont know if they have them for the trucks though.

Default Wagner Thermoquiet

I used Wagner Thermoquiet for the rear brake shoes I just put on the 2006 drum brakes. they seem to be OK. I just wanted to be sure that the Thermoquiet pads for disks were equal or better than OEM. Are OEM ceramic?

Thanks!

I went with the Hawk ceramic pads on mine and I love em. Again the price is kind of high but they stop great and there is barelly any dust from them.

The truck in my sig has had Duralast Golds since the factory pads were worn out in '87. Those have lasted long, and provided fail-free stopping in the '86 Silvy, '85 Astro Van, '93 Park Avenue, '94 Civic, '01 Accord, '02 Yukon, '07 Accords (both of them), and will certainly go on the '07 Armada I own now.

Now.... you can't expect 'em to perform like an expensive set of Brembo brakes, but they work very well for NORMAL driving (not overzealous speeding). Oh yea... never had a problem with squeeking until they were worn down so far that the pin scraped the rotor.
