Default Need help quick... How do you get the axle nut off??

I'm installing the mcgaughy's drop on my Denali at the moment, and I don't know how to get this crap off (the nut underneath the dust cap). Because the assembly just spins when you try to turn it.

Any Ideas...

Take a picture of what you are talking about, Or explain better what you are trying to remove. Maybe then we can help you.

Yeah, I am trying to remove the hub assembly from the spindle in the front. I took out the 3 bolts in the back, and I assume that I have to take off the big *** nut that is underneath the cap to get this off. Its AWD if it makes a difference. After I get the hub assembly off I will be good to go.

I don't have a camera with me to take any pics at the moment.

TIA

I use a 1/2" Impact (Air) with a big @ss socket I bought special for the task. Comes right off. Put 1 or 2 bolts back in finger tight to help with rotation.

Jam a large screwdriver (prybar, etc) into the cooling vanes on the inside of your brake rotor--when the screwdriver hits the ground (or brake caliper) it will stop the halfshaft from rotating . . . then you can remove the 32 mm (or is it 1 1/8 "? ) nut under the dustcap.
