I was told specifically NO SLICK 50, MOBIL 1, etc !!! Only a mineral based GOOD NAME BRAND GEAR OIL LIKE VALVOLINE, PENNZOIL, etc...

Oh yeah, and I recently switched to an Eaton w/ some new gears just need to go test it out...

Only need a second bottle if one still gives you some groaning, but I know I used 2 to start out with just to be safe.

Too bad i didn't see this earlier, this would have helped, but now you know how to do it anyway. Don't you just love the smell of that rear end fluid?

sorry guys, I didnt have time to post after I finished it up yesterday afternoon..
So far all went well.
the seals where pretty wore out.
and as far as the rear end fluid smell. I would have to agree
No moaning or banging noise comin from the rear. but I still have that paranoid feeling while driving it right now...(worried I didnt put something back together right)
so every time I hear a noise I turn the radio off and drive with my ear out the window listening.....
wound up putting 2 bottles of castrol 80-90w, and a bottle of addative..
thanks for the info guys..
it was all in all fairly simple to do..
