Actually isn't this really your first real tranny problem? I mean I don't remember reading anything about you breaking one, and your one of faster guys on the board... So IMO, I would be kinda pleased that this was your first actually tranny problem... Well TC problem, which caused the tranny problem... IMO that speaks volumes for FLT!!

hey Bill...lock up clutch failure was one of the biggest concerns that Lenny @ Ultimate Converter Concepts addressed when building my converter.
because of that, this is what he built, stating that it had a much larger clutch surface:
due to the recent purchase of a 4L80e...I do have this for sale now...if interested...3000 stall...less than 7k miles and a dozen track passes...all of which was behind the lesser powered stock motor...

Your converter is a part # 11LS1-R with lock-up capabilities. It is built using the Cadillac Northstar core, completely furnace brazed, bearings throughout, aftermarket clutch and H.D. damper assem., antiballoning plate system, and modified for stall to be compatible with your combo.

The guys at FLT have always been extremely helpful and even though this is not a failure of their unit they still give me all the support necessary to help me get it back up and on the road again! FLT ROCKS!!

You want to know what customer service is? FLT
Chuck called me today and asked me to send back the transmission so that he could take care of it for me! All I have to do is get my trans out and shipped.
Dave@YANK is going to cut and flush out my brand new converter and I'll have it shipped to FLT so they can dyno the pair together and make sure everything is perfect!
That's going way above and beyond good customer service in my book, heck that's better than I'd treat my own family.
