I have a cooler in front of the radiator thats about 6x12 inches. I have a 6.0 going in next month along stronger flex plate, a 34" radiator with built in transcooler and electric fans. Going to look into additional things that can be added to cool it even more.

The stall was not supposed to go in until the 6.0 was installed but no need to replace the one in there right now and then again with the 6.0 swap one.

I will do that at the end of the year. I ran out of funds on the 60e build. I think that shaft was about $450. I am upgrading the axle shafts this year though...

you must have been looking at billet shafts for that price, hardened ones are about 1/2 that

4l70e shafts are hardened and cyro treated and alot less then a billet. Don't have any experience with them but I will be running one in my next build.

So, what would be the benefit of just finding a low mileage 4L80 and putting it in? Is there a lot to change or is that just a pretty easy swap? Would a 4L80e be just as strong as all this or.....just trying to figure all this out, thats a lot of money to spend on a transmission

Default Just some pix sent to me by the builder

Just a few pix of my tranny tore up.

From what was discovered no seals have ever been replaced, just the clutches. The pump came apart too easy. Luckaly my servos where in there. That rules out that they just went to a junk yard and put that in mine. The transmission was the blackest he had ever seen, no red tint to it at all. There was silicone in the trans as well(not a good thing)

Default Failures

Aside from the first problems mentioned, there was a stuck check ball. Luckally a bought a new separator plate with the rest of the parts.

I agree. That's why mine wont engage until 60 mph in 4th. Turned off for 3rd gear. I'm not worried about fuel mileage. Mine foot stalls to 3000 just like clockwork.
