if the stall gets it out of the hole harder with a better 60 foot it might drop mph. ive seen it happen.

 

Ok I got the facts truck was a crew cab with aluminum 5.3 ported and milled 799s with a 224r cam. It went 13.6 @ 107 stock stall and 13.3@101 with 3200 fuddle. Truck has 4.10s as well. That's a huge drop in mph I don't c how that is possible?

 

I don't see a N/A crew cab 5.3 MPH'ing 107! You sure that's accurate?

 

Yes it can happen, depending on the efficiency of the convertor. The less efficient the convertor, the more slippage it will have and slippage = less power to the rear. Yes you may come out of the hole quicker with a cheapie B&M over stock, but I promise you that you will know the difference between it and a truly quality unit (efficient) on the top end!

Definitely not saying it’s your friend’s issue, especially at his power level, but I’ve seen quite a few high HP cars blow through even a good convertor.

 

Yeah that's what he ran the aluminum 5.3s come with flat tops I believe and with milled and ported 799s it made some power. I just bought a circle d tb converter restalled to 3-3200 hope I don't lose anything.

 

Circle D makes tight converters. You should love it. But it's not the MPH that counts, it's who gets there fastest.

 

Yeah but when u race someone on the street at a roll mph makes a big difference. I still have a hard time believing that he lost 6mph

 

i hate how everyone stresses on mph. regardless of mph its the time. i ran 11.5 at 115. no one ever focused on my time just how low my mph was. they dont realize if there a second slower then me but mph a little higher that means i have a second longer to gain more mph lol

applies really well in a drag race. good mph vehicles do great at a roll though.
