What's in your truck now? If its anything 3.73 or lower(numerically) then I wouldnt bother wasting the time/money to change gears.

Try the 3.23 first... I could see bumping it up to a 3.42 but you can make just as much gearing difference with a tire change IMO. The taller gear will load the **** out of the turbo and you'll be in the boost/power much quicker all other things being equal.

Id just run those then! Especially in a rcsb. Seems a lot of rcsb guys around here are running 3.23 or 3.42 gears. They will help load up the turbo and will help traction off the line some as well.

I think I scattered 6? rear ends?? Two to the point of ruining the whole housing. Transmissions?? I honestly lost count. It was nearing 20 by the time I sold the truck, hell about 4 of those were 80E's.

Lots of bonehead **** involved in most of those breakages. Lots of very avoidable, bonehead ****. This next build, if one ever happens will be a one shot deal using everything I've learned breaking everything imaginable along the way.

Next question. I know a 4l60e is **** but how well is a built one going to hold up. To around 600 maybe 700 hp. I know I know 4l80e is the way to go just a little curious

4L65E has latest upgrades, but if u can swing it FLT L7 is awesome. 600 HP might be pushin it, depending on your habits. 700 is on ragged edge, tho I was told a story of a guy sayin he was puttin out X amt, when in reality it was closer to 1000-1200 HP. It lasted a short while. Won't last long at all under 4 digit power, not sure what that guy was thinkin.

He shoulda went striaght to an 80E IMO on that particular case.

Weight is killer on these trannies I've heard; it looks like u are a RC, so that'll help too.
Drivin habits can make things last (or at least a little longer) than beatin the snot outta a given product.
