Default max power for a 4wd

How much power can a 4wd 1500 ECSB silverado reliably hold? I would like to be around 7-800 to the wheels on high boost and am trying to figure out if getting a 4wd truck is worth it over a 2wd. I would assume you would want a built 4l80e swap and have change the length of the drive shafts. How strong are the rest of the components. And is there any differance with the 4wd shifter on the floor or the push button?

Thanks in advance

The 4wd can hold quite a bit, at 7-800 you will want the 4l80e, there are several members on here that are pushing the 6-700 range on 4wd they can chime in some more, but in a straight line run everything holds up pretty well. I would look at swapping out the 8.5 in the rear if your putting down 800hp

I just got rid of it for a turbo setup, but I had a maggie 112 with a 3.0 ply and a z06 cam, long tubes, ect, ect, and a friend of mine who works for Baker Engineering and dyno tunes stuff all day said it was about 450ish. I have stock diffs, shift kit and servos, 456 gears and 35x12.50R20 heavy *** tires and I never broke anything.

I think Trevor1T is pushing almost that much HP and he's 4wd. Definitely want the 80e and probably a stronger rear.

Why is this in the Offroad Performance section? Anything that powerful on the boost will be a street queen.

More like Road Warrior
I make ~600rw Having 4wd takes a lot of the pressure off the rear diff. An 80e is a must, I am pushing the 4l60 to it's limits.

the truck would certainly be a 99% on road truck, the only reason why I asked there was because I did not know where else to ask a 4wd question being that most of the fi guys that I saw were 2wd. I am glad to hear that news though, as I think 4wd would be a much much better setup for the street with the retarded power levels that I want eventually.

I love having 4wd on a high power setup. Saves wear and tear on the rear axle by splitting power and you don't have to worry about traction. The transfer case should be able to handle whatever you can throw at it.

does anyone know if the SSS awd is any stronger or weaker than the z71 4wd? If so what would need to be done for a SSS at the same power levels?
