Thumbs up

smokeshow your a little far or else I would let you beat on the ly6 till you got your motor back ... but i have two lq4s in the garage now and your build is what made me go get an ly6! "newer ecm is so much quicker and a better set up more compact something , something, something......) just got the ls9 cam in today from ferocity02 , awesome person to deal with by the way, so im going to tear apart that 07 4.8 for the front cover , lifters/guides, and valley cover. sending the heads over to head games to plane them real quick just enough to ensure they are straight . while dave is doing that I will yank off the pan check the bottom end (carfax on the truck says 82,000 miles) knock out the pistons , rods and crank . throw some arp bolts in the rods and double check them for roundness. Hopefully can leave the crank alone... give the block a quick hone toss on some new rings and replace bearings. hopefully heads will be done around the same time (not sure if I want to go to manley for valves since they are local )put new springs on set spring hieght assemble then stare at it because im not sure of what trans or harness( smokeshow) and by the way there is ly6 & l92 blocks on ebay kinda cheap right now brand new

ly6 is better than a lq4 imo due to the rectangular port head, more flow.and yes im getting rid of the 6 speed just cause im going for more of a drag truck, other than that its badass...

I'm in the end of an iron 415 stroker. The top end is now paid for and waiting for the back order'd ls3 heads to get to the builder and assemple. I originally had it built to handle a 150 shot but just upgraded the pistons to Wisco alloys since I may go FI in the near future. I'ts going to get blue printed again this week, all forged internals. I was originally going to go turbo on the 5.3 but figured a stroker would be fun and then go FI when i get bored with it, if i ever do.

It's going in an 08 so I have the 70e. I won't be putting in the 415 till i get the 80e and stall so I can have it all done at once and tuned.

Its going to be my DD until I get my hands on a TDI jetta to get to work and back.

Default 6l90 - 4l80

alright on the fence about the 6l90 or 4l80 . if i break the 6l90 im screwed because they are not as readily available as 4l80es and alot more expensive . That and the ability to run a 149 transfer case . I already have a 32 spline input on the way , I think if I have one done for 34 spline that it would break because it would be to thin , then thought about respline the output shaft to 32 spline then it should be as strong as a 80 out put , right? advice?

update on this finally got awd transfer case from time2kill with 32 spline input shaft which is awesome but on the downside I got rid of the rcsb awhile ago so know I have a 32 spline 149 t case to sit around and collect dust
