mitchellmade 03-04-2012 08:06 PM

just picked up a ly6/6l90 combo out of wrecked 08 sierra its in my classifieds would love to put it in there , smokeshow is saying its alot of work but i think it would be worth it ? I do have a 4l80 laying around also

You could sell it and buy a different combo, have just as much power, and save a few headaches. Smokeshow is a knowledgable guy. What kind of truck are you wanting to put it in?

I would sell the 6L90e trans.

To get the Ly6 to work, you need to get a few things. TooTall gave me the list on my Ly6 thread

90mm DBC Throttle body
58x to 24x converter from

knock sensor relocation harness
Injector adapters - Injector Connector Conversion Adapter Harness LS1 to LS2-EV6 USCAR

To go from a 4 to a 6 speed, I would not try that on my 08. I saw 1 person here do and it is possible though. Iamkniff is the name i think

You could do like Speartech did with their 2001 model installing an LS2/6L80E combo and piggy back the system. The old computer was retained just so that all of the gauges and A/C would still function properly. They built the harness(s) required for the swap. About the only extra item you should need besides the ECM is the ETC accelerator pedal.
