LSx Manual Transmission Question
I'm putting a 6.0 LQ 4 (in my Heep) where there used to be a Ramjet (same block as mid/late '90's Vortec) 350. It will be mated to a '92 Chevy NV4500 (6.34:1 granny Lo, baby!). with the Ramjet, I used a '92 bellhousing with a '92 Chevy truck clutch/pressure plate, clutch release arm, and throw-out bearing.
I know I could just spend a million dollars on all new stuff (they still put the 4500 in the 2500s behind the LQ4), but I'd like to reuse as much of the old stuff as I can (especially the bellhousing) and save some ching-a-ling.
What I don't know is what thickness of throwout bearing I'm going to need to use...
Does anyone know how much different the clutch finger offset is for the newer chevy truck clutches? Is the flywheel/clutch cover assembly thicker or thinner or about the same?
Anybody else out there gone through this already?
Thanks!

- From what I've been able to gather, the bellhousing should bolt right up...
- ...but a special pilot bearing is required (GM PN 12557583) to make up for the 0.400" shorter crank offset.
- I'll need to get my hands on a Gen III flywheel (GM PN 12561680) and clutch/pressure plate. Apparently the flywheels are the same for all Gen III-engined Chevy trucks with a manual transmission (NV4500 or NV3550) so i should be able to snag the flywheel and clutch off one of those.

I'm going with a similar swap...6.0 in a 92 k1500. It already has a nv3500 so I plan on keeping it shortly til it goes while I work out the 6.0 swap bugs and then swapping in a nv4500.
