Looking at two lowering kits. One is a 2/4 drop,the other is a 3/5. The 2/4 will be a major brand kit with spindles,shocks,c-notch etc. Installed at a local shop. I was qouted $1200-1500 for this. The other lowering kit I have pictured is from eBay by a company named spindle source and its a 3/5 drop. Found it on craigslist and can get it brand new from a guy for $160. What can I expect from the two different kits? Is the pictured kit hard to install? That is such a big difference in price but I'm wanting to lower it on the cheap. I already have two inch lowering shackles on the back but I want to go lower.

I wouldn't buy an ebay kit, looks really cheap to me.

Also, a 4in rear drop does not need a c-notch.

 

Well after dealing w mcgauphys bs for awhile now Im gonna say avoid them. So far im really liking belltech, and djm has pretty good customer service. Def steer clear of ebay crap youll just end up regretting messing with it in the first place. Id say do it right or dont do it at all.

 

Spend money once properly on quality parts... Don't cheap out on suspension, you can hurt yourself or others...

 

I'm about to buy my 3rd McGaughy's kit for an 07 I picked up. Never had issues with them. What are you dealing with? Last time I dealt with them was about 4 years ago, so things might have changed.

 

I've never had an issue with belltech either. In fact I think that's about all I've ever used parts from to lower my trucks. I'm the same, wouldn't buy a cheap ebay kit and gamble it. I would suggest reading up on install, then spending money on quality parts and saving some by doing labor yourself.

 

I paid $250 for lowering springs and hangers and shackles from mcg. i like it so far. Put it on myself and really is not hard just time consuming. in the front you take off a total of like 5 bolt and then lug nuts and boom front is done. the back the hangers are not bad. but i had a air compressor and a snapone air hammer and took like 30 min per side. I recommend taking bed off . I weight 135 and my friend weighs 155 and we are pretty small and we both grabbed a side and lifted it up. not hard.
