I have the 2500 keys turned down for a 2.5" drop up front (with modified stock bumpstops) and the lift block removed + Belltech shackles in the rear which only netted me 3.5" drop ( I was shooting for 4"). Stock shocks with extenders on the rear, rides like stock, no excessive tire wear in 9K miles since drop.
FWIW, I initially turned the front down 3" from stock but the alignment shop ran out of adjustment for camber and had to turn them up 1/2" to get it within spec. If I had it to do over again, I'd go with 2" drop spindles and adjust from there. Also, I lost some turning radius after the drop - it reaches steering lock sooner than when stock ride height, notice it most in parking lots...
For the OP, you're right about the CC's being limited in how much we can drop the rear 'cause of the welded spring hangers. I'd like to drop the rear another 2", but mine is a DD and I tow with it so drop leafs are out of the question for me. Most I'm considering doing is removing the overload leaf and adding an airbag system to compensate when in tow...
Attached are a couple pics of results, prior to removing the mud guards (truck is Z71 and previously had Dueler A/T Revo's). Tires are 275/65-17 Michelins...

Well since we're showin pics, here ya go....I have about the same set-up as most of the guys here, but I decranked my t-bars as far as possible and was just able to get -.5 and -.6* of camber in the front. I got an extra 1/2" in the rear from spring clamps. From looking at pics my truck seems a tad lower than some, I'm assuming that 's from the drastic de-cranking and spring clamp combo. I think you had some air in your tow bags MeanZ71, the rear of your truck looks a bit higher than a block removal 2" shackle set up...

De-cranked torsion bars, removed lift block, 2" drop shackles, all Belltech bumpstops, and Airlift helper bags in back. 275/55-18 tires. Rides nice. Alignment is good, but the shop said that they barely got it within spec. One of the settings is maxed out, can't remember which one.

i did mine this weekend. all but put on my hd keys. the rear right now sits a lil lower than the front. i de-cranked my keys as far as i could. i cut the bump stops all the way around.. the rear i went with 2" shackles and removed my blocks with 2wd bolts. now i have 4" all the way around from fender to top of tire. but the front still seems higher to me. when i go get my alignment i will tell the guy to put the keys on for me. as for the ride i like it alot more than the bumpy lifted way that it was. rides smoother. now when i put my hd keys will it lower it more than now? can i do the keys myself? if so how would be the easiest way of doing so never done them before. pics soon

Yes, I believe that the Hd keys will lower the front more for ya. It's very easy to do by yourself if you have one essential tool...there's a tool that compresses to take the pressure off of the key, it's about $136 bucks. I've heard of guys using other methods, but I'm not sure what they are...maybe modified C clamps or something.
