Question Looking at a smaller stall for more street friendly driving, advice needed.

The plan with my sierra was that i was going to track it alot more when i built it and setup the truck. Now it ends up to be more of a sunday cruzer. My current stall is 4200 and its just way to much for the street, i dont really get to enjoy most of the powerband. Im thinking about going down to a 1800 stall that way i can still run the same big cam etc. What companies are worth taking a look at for stalls?

I have a Circle D 3400 in my truck and love it. Sure you want to go down that low?

My truck is still pretty tame if I don't get into it to much

Im thinking somewhere around 1800 to 2200 would be a nice streetable stall. I want more mid rpm. With that 4200 its pretty much all or nothing, and on the street it just doesnt work out well for usable power.

Personally I'd go with something from 2400-2800.

You definitely don't need to drop it down that low a 2800 would be really sensible and still get you into the thick of the powerband.

Well just going over my cam specs on the new cam im running i guess i would need a 2800 stall to run the cam.

Here are the cam specs, 235/249 .573/.558 109 LSA.

I'd go 3200-3400 with that cam in a 5.3 as a minimum. Gonna be a dog if you use a 2800 IMHO.

3200 stall with 3.73 is nice, and if you ever want to add a power adder they like some stall

So a 2800-3200 is what you guys are thinking? I know thats a big cam for a 5.3 so a 3200 would keep it snappy? 3200 seems high still for the street.
