Locking up sooner

My truck with the stock converter is a dog when I stab the throttle and the TC unlocks. It almost slows down when a roll on it because it starts to pull great with the tc locked then it unlocks with more load. Can the stock TC handle lockup when i give the throttle a stab or should I go to a PI 2400 10.5" tripple disc or maybe a yank tt2600?

The stock converter clutch was not designed to handle WOT lockup additionally if lockup remain on during a downshift or upshift you may be risking serious damage to the trans (broken parts)

I am sure you can have the tuning changed to allow more throttle without unlocking , However if a down shift occurs with the converter locked you will place and enormous amount of strain on the trans hard parts.

(reffering to Wilde's comment) no smartass. When I am in tcc lock, say 2000 rpms and I roll on the boost to ~6lbs it just feels wrong, like I am in the wrong gear and lugging. The meth is really turned up right now and I am running extremely rich at partial throttle (10.2-10.4) in boost. I m sure that is not helping.
As far as a downshift occuring when locked, his settings should be to not allow that to occur, that is the converter cannot remain locked during a shift.

With stock tuning these truck TCC's do lock at WOT, the 80e's lock in 2nd gear and the 60e/65e's lock at WOT over 75-85mph in 3rd gear.
The stock tunes lock the TCC during shifts? At least to the stock truck tunes I just looked at
