What's everyone's opinion on the stock goodyear Eagle LS's that came on my silverado SS rims? A lot of guys like 'em, some guys hate 'em. How do they ride? Handle? Are they smooth? I haven't put them on yet because my truck is still in winter storage.

those stock tires are junk. i have 265/50/20 bfg kdws, and theyr'e the best tire i've ever owned. the wet traction is amazing. i put on my winters and almost wrecked because i forgot to slow down when it was raining. the tire may be expensive.... but i've put 6000 miles on them, they show no wear, and handle absolutely great. i can't wait to lower it and see how much better it can be in the turns.

not sure if this helps but i have the falken stz04 but in a 16. wet traction is great once your moving, dry traction is ok on a hard launch but great once your going. i haven't heard any road noise from these tries. they are relatively quiet. as far as weight/balancing goes, from what i remember it didn't take a lot to balance them and there is no speed shakes at any mph.
i am sure with a wider tire the launch traction would be great but don't forget to look at the stz01. little diff tread pattern than the 04.

I've had good results with my Pirelli Scorpions (305/40-22). Great wet and dry traction and so far, they've lasted for 32000 miles. Unfortunately they don't make them anymore so I'm gonna have to replace them with the new model, Pirelli Scorpion Asymetricos

My take on this... I've run the Eagle GTII, on my old 17's. Suck for tractionand wet weather. On my 18's, the first set was Yokohama AVS S/T 285/50/18. Great wet traction, but crappy at the track and ABSOLUTLY SUCK in the noise catagory. I'll never buy them again. Now I have Nitto 404 in that same size, and have NO compaints so far. Much quieter on the road and traction is great both wet and dry. BTW, got them for $145 each at Discount Tire.

Hey Guys,
I've got the Toyo proxes S/T's on my 22's and they are a dream IMO. Quiet as hell, i can never hear them if its 10 mph or 96 mph, where the currnet spedo limiter is....
The grip nice tooo, given the 305 is 12.3 inches wide.....
tread wear seems like they will go about 50,000 k
