**** spending $300 just for the carrier, thats bs. Im gonna search around tonight to see what I can find. I wonder if the older 14 bolts use the same carrier as the AAM 10.5" 14 bolt because then we could just go to the junk yard and snag them for cheap, its not like it is that much of a wear item.

They interchange. So if you are doing a Detroit you can use the older style case. The 6258336 is the old style part number.

final decision made, going with the detroit locker, will order it from dts if I can't find it cheaper than $354 elsewhere.

The Brute strength diff is basically the same as a Eaton limited slip.

just buy a master install kit for your rear and it should have everything in it need to rebuild your rear. and good chioce on the detriot. and don't worry about long rode trips mine makes no niose just going down the highway, just a little in town around corners.

thanks man, I've been reading more about the detroit and from what I can tell most say they are not as bad as they use to be.
