you know zippy, I agree, you still remember why I bought the HD, I wanted none of these troubles. I think I can live with the added noise.

The ONLY instance I'm concerned about noise anyway would be on a road trip. I don't want something bugging me for 400 miles.

but around town and such, I could care less.

Now, who wants to sell me and open carrier and detroit locker for cost?
I am a veteren

I smell a gasoline drag truck in the making....out on I-5 hunting for diesels and Corvettes....guess the Acura will be the vehicle of choice for trips to the movies and the grocery store...

I'd look into your local rear-end shops. The one that my buddy worked for had many cores laying around. A four-wheeler shop would also be a good place to look. Those guys really like the 14 bolt 10.5" rear axle.

Dev, call the guys down at M.I.T. (Mechanically Inclined Technicians) in El Cajon, they have done so many diffs, I bet they have more than one carrier laying around...

Default Thorsen Gleason

I have a Thorson Gleason at my shop. It is a worm gear locker, great for drag racing it just doesn't stand up to jumping very well. This unit is the same as the put in the military issue hummers. It is completely rebuildable. PM if you are interested.
