Ahh ok well I don't have the evap hooked up since the 6.09 swap so that's even a better reason to take that out! Thanks man

I had to do a couple of changes to make it work but I wanted to keep as many parts fatory GM as possible.

The crossmember was removeable and I set up the u-joint angles to work with my 6" drop in the rear.
If your breaking driveshafts, you either have the wrong parts or the suspension is not set up right. For the life of me, I can see absolutely zero performance benefit changing from 1 to 2. Get the right parts and set it up right.

That's actually not true. The longer the shaft is, the lower it's critical speed will be. Of course, there are a bunch of other variables that affect critical speed, but stock shafts on ECSB and CCSB trucks are so long, that they often blow up between 110-125 mph.

The 2 piece shaft nets you 2 seperate shafts, that are both much shorter. They are (even in stock form) much safer to higher speeds.

Ok so you pulled the driveshaft from a half ton ecsb 2wd and it was the correct length for your ccsb 2wd? I need to do this swap in a bad way.My driveshaft in my ccsb will start roaring at 100 telling me to slow down. I wonder if I could use the shaft from a 2500 ecsb 2wd since I am 4l80e?

The CCSB half tons share the same wheelbase as the ECSB half tons and 3/4 tons. I'm pretty sure that would work just fine for you.

Wasn't the CCSB Availible in a 5.8 short short bed and a 6.6 short bed. Or was that only on 1500HD and 2500 series pick ups that you could get it with the normal sized 6.6 short bed???

I believe the CCSB with the 5.8 bed uses the same length as the ECSB

BTW they did make an ECSB with a short 5.8 bed so make sure you get the right unit even though they are super rare.

I have the 5'8" bed 143.5 WB which is the same on ECSB so it's pretty much a direct swap besides the carr bearing crossmember
