Default Let's discuss the Roadmaster Active suspension system

Found this little number browsing through a summit catalog. Let's see what you guys think about it.

Website says: Roadmaster Active Suspension effectively reduces axle wrap and wheel hop by "absorbing" the added force of increased torque while holding the leaf springs in their original bowed shape. The S-shape twisting, and subsequent hop, is thereby greatly reduced. Traction is increased because tires transfer torque to the ground efficiently.

Looks like they're advertising mainly for help with carrying loads, but they're also claiming better traction without loads as well. Could something as simple as this really help out with the imfamous traction issues these trucks have.

Here's a link to it. http://www.activesuspension.com/index.htm

Check out their comparisons to other products as well. What do you guys think?

Price seems to be about $220 - I wonder if these work as well as caltracs if you cranked them down at the track.....

When they first came out the said that they got a stock F-150 to run a faster time then a stock truck w/o them. I remember watching the infomercial on them but can't remember how much time was droped.

I have them on my 2002 truck to help with towing duties. They do very well for that task and really help out the body roll problem in the corners.

No appreciable change to the hook with them but I am running them in conjunction with the Cal-Tracs so I don't know what they will do all by themselves. I am thinking about putting them on my 2005 truck instead of the 02 since the 05 is taking over primary tow duties so I may be able to tell you if it hooks better with just the RAS soon.

All things equal I think that they are a great towing / handling mod but they don't really do as much for a strong launch like the Cal-Tracs.
