I have an 04 silverado, very sqeuaky leaf springs, I think I have narrowed the problem to the rear part of the leaf. Can I remove the keepers from the rear of the spring, it seems like they are causing a bit of binding. I was told that I can remove the keepers , and that they serve no real purpose, but i would like a conformation on that before I cut them off. Thanks
