Default Front Driveshaft ?

Hey guys, here lately my truck has been making a clunking noise. I thought it was my hub or cv. Well I changed the plugs and fuel filter and what do ya know its my front driveshaft. The u-joint on the front of my t-case has got some play in it. So my question is when I remove the drive shaft would it be alright to drive my truck?

It is safe to drive a 4x4 truck without the front driveshaft but why not just replace the 20 dollar u-joint and put it back in?

I was just curious, I have a u-joint i just need to install it now. My boss tried removing the old u-joint from my rear d-shaft by putting it in a press, then I heard a loud noise and he broke the ear off of it! Needless to say I got another one built.

Yeah it sounds like he has never done a factory u-joint before. They have clips on the inside and you have to heat all the plastic crap out of them before you attempt to press them out.
