Leaf Spring Eye Bolts
#1
After 3 weeks of encouragement from the 5lb sledge I finally got the eye bolt out of the leaf spring - left side front mount (that would be the left or drivers side leaf spring eye bolt, forward mount)
All eye bolts were tough to get at and get out of both the frame and the shackle but the left front is by far the worst.
I noticed some slight enlargement and elongation of the outboard bolt hole due to the many repeated blows with sledge hammer.
I also noticed the mushroomed distortion of the metal surrounding inboard bolt hole from the same repeated blows with sledge hammer
Any suggestions on the correct repair for this?
thanks in advance
