Default Larger Tranny Cooler

Is there a larger tranny cooler out there that will hook up to my stock lines exactly like a factory cooler? I have a 06 VMAX ECSB Silverado.
Thanks
Jim

Not that I could find. I wanted the same thing 2 weeks ago. I called the dealer in Phoenix and they said that the 1500, 2500, and 3500 all use the exact same factory cooler approx .75 inch thick by 5.25 inch tall by 10.75 inch wide. The larger GM trucks use a bigger cooler but the lines are way too big. I ended up getting an aftermarket Tru-cool that is .75" thick by 6" tall by 23" wide.

I found a B&M cooler that has the same (I think) threaded female ends that the GM fittings will screw into and it's a stacked plate cooler about 4" taller but I would have to fabricate a mounting bracket. Doesn't seem to difficult but I want it to look stock and mount properly because the truck is new.

is your transmission actually running hot, or do you just want a bigger cooler? Do you have a factory trans temp gauge?

I was talking to someone the other day about tranny temps and he suggested to keep tranny temps below 200 deg

I tow a 22 foot enclosed car hauler. Loaded it weighs about 8000 lbs. so the larger cooler is a safety measure. I had a 92 ECSB with a 350 in it and a 700R4 tranny and my temps never got past 190* with the larger cooler (my gauge sensor was in the outlet line from the tranny to the rad). I'm going to install a cluster with a temp gauge soon and maybe (if I think it's not accurate) will install a Autometer manifold in the cooler line and use their tranny gauge like I did in my old truck. It's probably overkill but it's cheaper than a new tranny.

yeah, that's true. I was just curious if you were actually having problems already or if it was a precaution. With automatics, a large cooler never hurts.
