There are 2 reasons why that would happen. The first is simple and I feel this is what was happening with your G80. The clutches develop a gray film on them over time which cause that low speed shudder while turning. Pulling the diff cover and hosing a few cans of brake cleaner though the clutches usually does the trick. The second reason usually leads to the death of a G80 and the need for an upgrade/replacement......damaged spider gear. If some of the teeth are broken off the spider gear, you will have the same symptoms. This is what happened with my truck, when I pulled the diff cover to hose the clutches out, I found around 12 teeth off the spider gear laying on the magnet. Before it had a chance to self destruct, I upgraded to a TrueTrac, ARP Studs, and TA Girdle.
Good info. Im switching to 4.10s soon so we will know whether it's the former or latter..

X-2 im wait6ing for mine 2 go boom' also . there's a good kit on ebay' " detroit , gears , and Over haul kit< for around $600 . .. change ur fluid , it helps . . My fuild was grey' as soon as i changed my fluid ' it helped with the bouncing & Cliking noise it made '
