Yeah the RPMs have jumped up about 600 rpm or so. Cruising around 60 the rpm is about 2,000. Perfect area for finding that 6.0 grunt!

I am gonna wait for a tune before I commit as my GM friends says there is quite a bit of TQ management holding back the low end now.

For sure. However, I'm running a 6.2 and tuned and have thought about gears myself. I'm a 3.73 4x4, so I'd have to buy two gearsets and I'm just not sure yet if 4.10s will be worth the money. I'd like to do 4.30s to make up for the taller tire, but I'm not 100% that I'll be okay with the freeway rpm. I'm sitting on 285/70-17s with a 6L80E.

Just got back from the drivetrain shop (they replaced my 3.42s with 4.10s) and couldn't be happier. I was pulling right at 2k RPMs at 66mph on the way back and the part throttle acceleration is vastly improved. I heard no lugging and there was no tranny downshifting when I hit hills like before either. In short, I couldn't be happier and if anything am regretting not going for 4.30s. One thing that turned me off was that 4.10 is the most gear you can get if you want to run OEM brand. The guys at the shop thought I was a little weird taking a vehicle in there with barely 700 miles on it, but I wore a grin on my face the whole way home. Well worth the cash, even considering it was more than double the cost for most guys because I drive a 4x4.

Yes. I believe the 265/65/18s are 31.5" or so. I find it ironic that the 2wd trucks have 33" tires (275/60/20) while the 4x4s get 31.5"s.
