Just performed a hydro boost conversion on my 02 Tahoe LQ4 4x4. Just wanted to say if your thinking about it, Do It! What a diiferance it makes. I had a hard time in the past with hard stops. The GM hydro boost makes a big differance. Plus tow / braking also is alot better.

 

I did the conversion 2 years ago and I love it as well. Espcially FI, a quick jab at the throttle and then try to stop was impossible. The only negative side to this conversion, I drive hard and fast and I can kill a set of pads in months.

 

What is this hyrdoboost mod?

 

Its the brake system off the HD series trucks. Instead of being vacuum operated, its get its power assist from the power steering pump.

 

Still on my to do list along with a big brake kit.

 

Did the 2004 Tahoe's come with the hydro boost? My 2004 Tahoe has this setup on it from the factory.
