Default just installed 2/4 drop on silverado w/22's

I installed a 2/4 drop on a 05 silverado ecsb with stock shocks. I have 22's with a tire size of 305/40/22. I am having a problem with my front end bottom out on my fender well. What kinda shocks are recomended for a stiffer ride so this does not happen?

Bilstein, Edelbrock are two. Stiffer shocks will help a little, but aren't the real solution. Ride height and suspension travel are still the same, so the potential to rub will always be there.

There have been a few guys who run 305/40/22s on a 2" front drop without rubbing. Do you know the backspacing on your wheels? That may be your real problem.

Cool

How about stiffer bump stops? Just make it ride like poop? Stiffer shocks may make it handle a little better but your ride will be stiffer as well and they will not limit your suspension travel.

Changing your wheel offset may be your best choice to eliminate your rubbing problem.

Damn!! If you rub with a 2/4 and 22's, ill be rubbin for sure! Im about to do a 4/6 on 22's with 265/40/22 tires. My tires will be shorter but my drop will also be 2" lower so it will be worse! Not looking forward to that! lol

I would say backspacing is your issue. My wheels have 5.5" backspacing and they are 22x9 centerlines. I would have liked to go with something with a little more backspacing but as long as they are 5.5" or more, you should be ok with just a new set of shocks and maybe a smaller tire.

I used to have a 2/4 and 305/40 22 tires and it rubbed all the time even with DT shocks. So I just trimmed out the front fender well and it never hit again. Also, my backspacing was horrible, 5.7" bs on a 9.5" wide rim. so just do that and you will be fine.

oh ya, Neversatisfied, you should be cool with 265/40 22s. I have 265/35 22 and a 4/6 and its perfect, so you may have to roll a little fender lip and trim up some and you will be fine
