My personal experience with my 4L80e and TransGo shift kit (.096 holes drilled or Firm setting) has been, pretty good chirp WOT with the stock wheels & tires both 1-2 & 2-3, a little chirp WOT with the 20's & 305/50-20 tires both 1-2 & 2-3, no chirp WOT with the DOT slicks at the track on any shift. All WOT shifts are fast and firm, progressively less and thus equivalent to TPS, no jolting, no overly aggressive low speed shifts, it is much more consistent than the stock calibrations were.

I believe what Transgo puts in their directions and it's in there for a reason. They build the parts, they are the tranny people, and I personally have installed the HD-2 kit per their instructions and have had no problems. The vehicle is run with slicks and on spray (125 shot) with a 10" converter and 4.10's.

If a shift kit is installed incorrectly or the LP is too high then yes it will mess **** up. Ill put it this way man if you are makign any kind of HP and you dont have a shift kit in your trans your clutches will be burnt up in no time. If the shift kit is so damn bad why do ALL performance trans builders put one in their transmissions. Leave it in there put one washer in it get it tuned and go on down the road and enjoy your beefed trans.

Mine has two washers in it and I have had all different stall speeds in my truck my new stall will be a 3200. You can get away with more washers since the stall soaks up ALOT of the harshness of a shift.

I installed a TCI3000 and transgo and used 2 washers. Works like a champ.
