Default Just got a 2005 rear end for my 1981 c10

I just purchased a 2005 6 lug rear end assembly for 1981 c10. I have been wanting to convert it over to six lug to put late model wheels on it. It is a 3.73 with a funky looking carrier.

Anyhow, how good are the carriers in these things? The gears look stout, but i am afraid the center section will not cut it. I am coming from a rear end with an auburn pro diff in it. I like it pretty well.

you are correct. the stock carrier is crap and is prone to breakage. Pick what you like..auburn , Eaton, tru-trac which are all proven carriers and used by many here.
