inner tie rod tool?
Is there a special tie rod removal tool for the 2wd trucks?
Guy at autozone tried to sell me a bogus tool.. it was like trying to use a 1" wrench on a 1/2" bolt.. he said it would work but i could stick my finger between the inner tie rod end and the inside of the socket..

Jman, I'd measure, counts threads or tape, whatever methosd u choose to match up new to old, to keep your alignment close, esp. if u don't get a chance to have a shop do.

Wow that sucked some kinda bad!!!!
I had to put a 4' cheater on my 18" pull handle to break them loose.
They must have put the newb on the line when they assembled this one. There was wayyyy too much locktite on the threads.
Pretty much thought i was gonna break the rack before the first one broke loose.
Im glad i got that out of the way. Alignment saturday morning.

I've done mine twice now, and my cousin's twice. That socket with a long extension bar that comes with it is what I used from Oreilly's, that thing sucks ***, and is cheap. I rounded one off, had to go back and swap it.

i um.... kinda ended up modifying one of the sockets..
one was too loose and one wouldnt fit..
took the one that wouldnt fit and ground some out till it was a snug fit.. vicegrips in the gap so it couldnt move forward off the inner tie rod.. vola.. passenger side didnt take no time.
